A 28,000-square-foot community center, set to replace an outdoor basketball court and parking lot in Mission Park, is slated to open by the summer, according to Roxbury Tenants of Harvard (RTH) Executive Director Karen Gately.
“It’s going great,” she told the Gazette this week. “It’s going along pretty quickly.”
The community center, being built on Vining Street, is to have a full basketball court, a fitness center, a teaching kitchen, conference facilities and a youth center.
The center will be called the Roxbury Tenants of Harvard Community Center. It was previously going to be named after former RTH President Jacqueline Boston. It was originally slated to open last fall.
