Pipe bombs found in Mission Park

A man was arrested Nov. 21 for allegedly setting off a pipe bomb and having another one ready to be lit in the Mission Park housing development.

Alex Wan, 22, was arrested after a fire alarm went off at 11 New Whitney St. The Boston Police Bomb Squad found two silver pipe bombs, one exploded and other with a wick still extending from it, according to the Boston Police Department.

It is unclear exactly where the pipe bomb went off. The damage appeared to be minor. Girma Belay, executive director of Roxbury Tenants of Harvard, which manages Mission Park, was unavailable for comment.
