Brigham Green project breaks ground

Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) planned to break ground on a new 400-space underground parking garage and surface park at Brigham Circle on May 30, after the Gazette’s deadline.

The Brigham Green project will create an underground 400-car parking garage in front of the Peter Bent Brigham building at 15 Francis St. and landscape the area into green space with benches and open space. The project is slated to be completed by April 2014.

The park will be named the Thea and James M. Stoneman Centennial Park, in honor of the donation made by the Stoneman family.

The finished project will also include parking for 76 bicycles and an improved bus stop in Brigham Circle.
