Fuentes Market honored at City Hall

Miguel Fuentes, the owner of Mission Hill’s Fuentes Market, was among the small-business owners honored at a Latino Heritage Month celebration organized by At-large City Councilor Felix Arroyo at City Hall on Oct. 15.

Fuentes has run the local landmark market at 680 Parker St. for decades. He and 12 other Latino small business owners received City Council resolutions honoring their successes.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, employing 70 percent of all American workers,” Arroyo said in a press statement. “I take great pride in supporting our small and locally owned businesses and using this opportunity to recognize hard-working small business owners in Boston.”
