Mission Hill gets 2nd Farmers’ Market

Mission Hill now has two options for fans of Farmers’ Markets: the weekly Thursday Farmers’ Market at Brigham Circle and a new market on Tuesday afternoons at Roxbury Crossing. Both are now offering fresh fish in addition to fresh produce.

“It’s adding a second location and a second time to make the Farmers’ Market as convenient as possible for as many Mission Hill residents as possible. This way, anyone coming home via the Orange Line will find a market every Tuesday at the Roxbury Crossing T Station,” Mission Hill Health Movement (MHHM) Executive Director Maggie Cohn told the Gazette last week. MHHM is a partner of Mission Hill Main Streets, which runs the Farmers’ Market.

The markets feature fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods and fresh-caught fish and shellfish.

Both markets opened for the season last month. While attendance numbers are lower than Cohn would like, she is hopeful for better turnouts as the summer progresses.

The Brigham Circle market is open Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Roxbury Crossing market is open Tuesdays, 2 to 7 p.m., “though we may tinker a bit with that time to see what works best,” Cohn said.
