BWH garage, park to be finished this summer

Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s (BWH) parking garage and park project in Brigham Circle is expected to be completed this summer, according to spokesperson Lori Schroth.

The Brigham Green project, which is located at 15 Francis St., will create an underground 400-car parking garage and a park above that will have green space with benches. The park will be named the Thea and James M. Stoneman Centennial Park, in honor of a donation made by the Stoneman family.

The finished project will also include for 76 parking spaces for bicycles.

“There have been no complications to this technically difficult project, which has not only required blasting, but also working next to a 100-year-old building and alongside busy sidewalks and roads,” Schroth said in an email to the Gazette. “Overall, the project has proceeded smoothly, with regularly scheduled interactions with the local community, and we are looking forward to its completion this summer.”
