Police: Beware of armed robbers in McLaughlin Playground

Police are warning residents to beware of a gang of armed robbers in McLaughlin Playground following two incidents on Oct. 4.

In both cases, a group of four young men with guns and possibly Tasers robbed groups of people walking through the Parker Hill Avenue park around 2:30 a.m.

No one was injured, according to police. One group of victims consisted of Wentworth Institute of Technology students, according to WIT’s Department of Public Safety.

The robbery suspects are described as black males in their late teens or early 20s, around 5-feet-11-inches tall, clean shaven and with thin builds. They all wore hooded sweatshirts, two of which were black and two of which were gray.

The Boston Police Department offered no information on any possible connection between the robberies and the death of a man whose body was found in the park on Sept. 30.

Anyone with information about the robberies can contact detectives at the local District B-2 Police Station at 617-343-4275 or anonymously by calling 1-800-494-8477 or by texting the word “TIP” to 27463.
