Yissel Guerrero was named Mayor Martin J. Walsh’s neighborhood liaison for the Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Fenway, and Mission Hill.

A longtime Dorchester resident, Guerrero recently earned a bachelor’s degree from Emory University in Atlanta. She has a passion for helping others and regularly volunteers for her church in Roxbury, helping link it with government resources. Guerrero also enjoys spending her free time with her grandmother, a Fenway resident, and practicing mixed martial-arts, which she has a black belt in.

In her new role at City Hall, Guerrero looks forward to connecting residents to the mayor, as well as city resources.

“I’m very excited to work with Mayor Walsh to continue to provide excellent city services to Beacon Hill, Back Bay, Fenway and Mission Hill,” Guerrero said. “These are dynamic neighborhoods and I’m ready to meet residents and get to work.”
