A Suffolk County grand jury has handed down indictments charging three suspects in the homicide of Andres Cruz with first-degree murder, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to a press release.
Boston police apprehended Jerome Hobson, Shawn Redden, and Christian Soto-Olivero shortly after the July 18 incident at AC Hardware Store on Tremont Street, and the defendants have been held without bail since July 19.
Redden, 26, and Soto-Olivero, 21, were arraigned in West Roxbury Municipal Court. Hobson, 38, was arraigned at Boston Medical Center, where he was being treated for serious laceration injuries he had apparently sustained during the fatal encounter.
The Sept. 27 indictments move the cases to Suffolk Superior Court, where they will be adjudicated. The arraignments have not yet been scheduled.
Hobson, Soto-Olivero, and Redden are represented by Robert Griffin, John Galvin, and Michael Bourbeau respectively. The attorneys did not respond to the Gazette’s request for comment.
