Registration for Turkey Trot 5k, Franklin Park’s 5th Annual Turkey Trot will be at 9am on Thanksgiving Day. Enjoy Boston’s most scenic 5k on the beautiful historic paths of Franklin Park.  Run or walk the jewel of the Emerald Necklace to start your Thanksgiving Day! Museum of Fine Arts

November films, November marks Boston Jewish Film Festival, Boston Turkish Film Festival’s Documentary and Short Film Competition, as well as a special evening with directors Bill Morrison and Guy Maddin.

Takashi Murakami: Lineage of Eccentrics, Discover works by renowned contemporary Japanese artist Takashi Murakami juxtaposed with treasures from the MFA’s remarkable collection of Japanese art. This unique exhibition reveals how the artist’s contemporary vision is richly inflected by a dynamic conversation with the historical past, framed by a creative dialogue with the great Japanese art historian, Professor Nobuo Tsuji.

Art in Tune, Thursday, November 16, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), celebrates the centennial of its Musical Instruments Collection with an evening of drop-in performances in the galleries. Art in Tune offers the rare chance to hear musical instruments from the collection played throughout the building, starting with 19th-century trumpets greeting visitors with fanfare from the MFA’s Grand Staircase. Nine performances take place in galleries—an Indian sarod (lute) will be played amid South Asian art, and a 1936 electric violin will be heard in the American Modernism gallery, among others. Visitors can look out for accordionist and Guinness World Record holder Cory Pesaturo, who will be strolling the Museum playing a selection of 20th-century accordions.
