Stepping outside the college bubble is the best way to make Mission Hill truly feel like home, and the Community Alliance of Mission Hill (CAMH) is the perfect place to start. Founded in 1995, CAMH is an all-volunteer, non-profit civic organization that serves as a forum for neighborhood matters, giving residents a unified voice on everything from local development to quality-of-life issues. They openly welcome new arrivals and students who want to get involved and make the area their home.
To ease into neighborhood life, check out their monthly “Stammtisch.” As you might have seen in our recent event photos, this “No Agenda – Let’s Socialize” meetup is held on the first Tuesday of every month from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Puddingstone Tavern. It is a fantastic, low-pressure way to grab a bite, meet local business owners, and chat with long-time residents in a casual setting. If you want to dive deeper into local planning, housing development, and neighborhood advocacy, you can also attend their formal community meetings, which take place on the third Wednesday of each month.
