The lease for a daycare center in the Roxbury Crossing T Station property at Tremont and Terrace streets is expiring, and it is unclear whether it will file a bid with the MBTA to stay.
Tartt’s Day Care Center III has operated at 1424 Tremont St. for 11 years, according to co-owner Ken Reed. The MBTA is required to conducting public bidding for the lease, but the daycare has not yet received the bidding information, Reed said this week.
“Unfortunately, we are unable to make that decision yet” about whether the daycare will stay, Reed said.
An MBTA advertisement in the May 25 Jamaica Plain Gazette seeking bids for the space calls for a five-year lease with a $65,000 base rent for the first year. Bid are due by June 27.
“The current tenant is eligible to bid,” said MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo.
