Congratulations to the winners of this year’s “Best of Mission Hill” Gazette reader survey. Once again, we marvel at how many outstanding choices residents have in this great neighborhood.
Such “best-of” businesses as Mike’s Donuts have not only have served the community for decades. They also act as social anchors, where people can meet and chat about the issues of the day.
In the nonprofit and volunteer area, Mission Hill Main Streets provides the business district with big benefits and political leverage, and the Community Alliance provides a calm forum for zoning and licensing requests.
Many colleges, hospitals and museums provide innumerable local benefits as well.
The deserved winners of “Best of Mission Hill” are just the tip of the iceberg. Some votes went to many other local businesses and institutions. We’re lucky to have those resources and those choices.
