NU Huskies go 1-and-done in March Madness

The Northeastern University men’s basketball team made a one-and-done appearance in the March Madness tournament—its first entry in nearly 25 years.

The Huskies nearly upset No. 3-seed Notre Dame before falling, 69-65, in a March 19 match-up in the annual NCAA tournament played in Pittsburgh, Pa.

With a 72-61 victory over William & Mary in the Colonial Athletic Association championship game on March 9, the NU Huskies had earned their first March Madness entry since 1991, and only their eighth ever.

NU held a selection-show watch party for fans on March 15 to learn the team’s seed and opponent. The Huskies were the No. 14 seed.
