City Councilor Mike Ross has decided not to run for a U.S. Congress seat after openly considering the idea for weeks, according to a press release attributed to his campaign exploratory committee.
Ross, a Mission Hill resident, said in the press release that he intends to support some other, yet to be named Democrat in the run for the 4th Congressional District seat that U.S. Rep. Barney Frank will leave next year.
“I am particularly proud to be able to remain in the neighborhood of Mission Hill—a community I love—and stand ready to work for the constituents I serve and tackle the important issues of our time,” Ross said in the statement.
Ross could not be reached for immediate comment.
