We welcome the hundreds of new residents, most of them students, who arrived in Mission Hill over the past week.
For those of us who have lived or worked here for a year, a decade or a lifetime, there can only be envy for those who are enjoying their first experiences of the great things this neighborhood offers. A morning coffee at Mike’s Donuts. A visit to the healing shrine at Mission Church. A walk through Fitzgerald Park. Ribs at AK’s or an exotic pizza at Penguin. Over in the LMA, a wander through the Gardner Museum or a gawking at Harvard’s medical curiosity museum.
New eyes are seeing all of those things for the first time this week, and that’s one way this old neighborhood always lives again.
