Mission Hillers who like variety will find plenty of it when they head to the polls on Sept. 24 to vote in the At-Large City Council and local District 8 City Council races. There are 19 candidates running for at-large, while five candidates are vying for the District 8 seat. A Mission Hiller will appear in each race.
The Sept. 24 preliminary will narrow the at-large race to eight candidates, while the District 8 race will slim down to two candidates.
The candidates for the District 8 seat, which will be vacated by incumbent Mike Ross, are Angelica Addivinola, Thomas Dooley III, Mission Hiller Gloria Murray, Michael Nichols and Josh Zakim.
The At-Large City Councilor candidates are incumbent City Councilors Stephen Murphy and Ayanna Pressley; Frank John Addivinola Jr.; Christopher Conroy; former City Councilor and mayoral candidate Michael Flaherty; Philip Arthur Frattaroli; former state Rep. Althea Garrison; Annissa Essaibi George; Jack Kelly III; Keith Kenyon; Martin Keogh; Catherine O’Neill; Jeffrey Michael Ross; former City Councilor Gareth Saunders; Mission Hiller Ramon Soto; Seamus Whelan; Francisco White; Douglas Wohn; and Michelle Wu.
