Deck collapse injures several

A third-floor deck collapsed at an apartment building at 1538 Tremont St. on the night of Sept. 13, injuring 10 to 11 people, according to the Boston Police Department (BPD) and the Inspectional Services Department (ISD).

Officers responded to a report of a building collapsed at about 10:51 p.m. and found that a third-floor deck had collapsed, according to bpdnews.com.

ISD spokesperson Lisa Timberlake said 10 to 11 people were injured. She said ISD issued a violation for an “unsafe structure” and asked the landlord to hire a licensed engineer to inspect the building. Timberlake said the investigation is ongoing.
