Letter: Problems with MassArt students? Let us know.

Dear Mission Hill Neighbors:

Students from Massachusetts College of Art and Design once again have settled into residence halls and apartments around the neighborhood. We’re writing today to let you know that MassArt takes seriously its commitment to helping students become responsible members of their communities. Our expectation of student behavior is the same whether on or off-campus; they are to be respectful and responsible at all times. We discuss this with new students during orientation and will remind all students regularly throughout the year.

Administrators at MassArt address any and all concerns regarding inappropriate behavior. The college’s policies, which are clearly communicated to all of its students, give MassArt the authority to address off-campus behavior. Through regular interactions with Mission Hill residents, we are able to speak directly about student behavior that negatively impacts the quality of life in our neighborhood.

Everyone here at MassArt cares about Mission Hill. We are your neighbors and are committed to making sure our community remains an enjoyable place live and work. If ever you have questions or concerns about students from MassArt, please feel free to be in touch. We can be reached at [email protected] and [email protected].
