Suspect sought in street attack on woman

A woman was attacked early in the morning of Sept. 4 around 578 Huntington Ave. by a man who choked her and dragged her down an alley before a security guard scared him away, according to the Boston Police Department.

According to BPD, the woman was attacked around 4:21 a.m. while walking home from work. The attacker approached her from behind and forced her into the area between two college dorms: Wentworth Institute of Technology’s Rodgers and Edwards Halls, and the “Tree House” skyscraper used by WIT, MCPHS University and the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

The suspect fled on foot when a campus security officer responded to the woman’s screams.

The suspect is described as a black male, 18-25 years old, 6 feet tall, medium build, wearing a gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants with his boxers showing. BPD also released grainy images of the suspect, apparently taken from security cameras, that can be viewed at bpdnews.com.
