NU grad heads Landmarks Commission

Rosanne Foley, a Northeastern University graduate, was appointed last month to be the next executive director of the Boston Landmarks Commission (BLC), according to a press release.

Foley takes over for Ellen Lipsey, whose employment was ended by the City late last year. The BLC has played a prominent role in the Mission Hill area, putting landmark designations on such buildings as the Isabella Stewart Garner Museum and the Parker Hill Branch Library

“I look forward to making use of my background and relationships to honor the unique cultural resources that exist in all Boston neighborhoods,” said Foley, according to the press release.

Foley prior experience includes being the executive director of the Fields Corner Main Street organization and a consultant for the Upham’s Corner Main Street organization.
