Two people, including current seat-holder Josh Zakim, have applied for nomination papers for the District 8 city councilor race. That district covers Mission Hill.
The other person is Beacon Hill resident Thomas Joseph Dooley III, who ran unsuccessfully for the seat in the 2013 election.
Eight people have pulled papers for the At-Large City Councilor race: Annisa Essaibi George, Chrissanta Rudder, Bentzion Chudnovskiy and Bryan Fuller and Current At-Large City Councilors Stephen Murphy, Michael Flaherty, Ayanna Pressley and Michelle Wu. The top four vote getters receive a seat on the Council.
Candidates for the District 8 will need to collect 195 signatures by May 19, while candidates vying for an At-Large seat need 1,500 signatures by that time.
