NU plans $26m renovation of Carter Playground

Northeastern University (NU) has plans for a $26 million renovation of the City’s Carter Playground.

Carter Playground is the plot of land formed by Columbus Avenue, Camden Street and the Orange Line. Aging tennis courts and a playing field are currently there.

The two-year renovation will turn the playground into new tennis courts, a baseball/football field, a soccer field and open space. NU will also install a temporary air structure on one of the playing fields during the winter months.

NU and the City have signed a shared-use agreement on the park, which can be found here: bit.ly/1F6mDUh.
