Boston’s Board of Election Commissioners has established “one-day early” voting sites for the upcoming November election, including the Tobin Community Center and the Back of the Hill Apartments, according to a press release.

Overall, there will be 27 early voting sites across Boston, three in each of the city’s nine council districts, in addition to early voting at City Hall.

“Boston is proud to support early voting, and we have worked hard on a comprehensive plan that will allow many of our residents to vote at a time convenient for their work and family schedule,” said Mayor Martin Walsh, according to the press release. “Whenever we are able to expand access to the ballot, we make our democracy stronger.”

For the Nov. 8 election, voters will be able to cast their ballots at the two early voting sites in Mission Hill—Back of the Hill Apartments at 100 South Huntington Ave. and Tobin Community Center at 1481 Tremont St.—on Nov. 4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It is possible to vote early at City Hall from Oct. 24 to Nov. 4, with the times varying each day. Voters can also cast their ballots at any of the other early voting sites, as it is not restricted to the district where they reside. For more information, visit boston.gov.

Voters may also request an early voting ballot by mail, which is different than an absentee ballot because no excuse or reason needs to be provided in order to vote early.

All submitted ballots will be secured in a vault at City Hall prior to Nov. 8, and will be counted on Election Day.

“We thank Mayor Walsh for his support on this important initiative that will give more citizens the opportunity to vote,” said Boston Election Chairman Dion Irish, according to the press release. “I thank the public for providing the input that has us to this point in our planning process. Now our efforts and attention will now be focused on early voting marketing and operational plans.”
