Cardinal O’Malley began the New Year with Mass for Boston’s Haitian community at the Mission Church at noontime. The annual Mass honoring Haitian Independence Day was moved from the Cathedral in the South End to Mission Church because of extensive renovation now underway and was attended by many priests who minister to the Haitian community throughout the Archdiocese.
