MassArt 29th Annual Auction, Sat. April 7, with public preview days and an opening reception at the end of March. Auction will support student scholarships and academic programs. The 2018 live auction will include 34 pieces by internationally renowned artists, including Robert Freeman, Takashi Murakami, Alison Saar, Claes Oldenburg and new auction artist Sangbin Im; and local artists such as MassArt faculty members Rania Matar and Fred Liang, and MassArt alumni TRIIIBE BFA ‘01 and Clint Baclawski MFA ‘08 who is offering this year’s sole commission. MFA Late Nites, Tickets are now on sale for the next MFA Late Nites event on Sat. March 3, connecting visitors to art, culture and community during a night at the Museum. From 8 pm to 2 am, the diverse event lineup features programming in partnership with local organizations and artists—making the Shapiro Family Courtyard and Linde Family Wing for Contemporary Art buzz with activity. Guests can visit exhibitions like Takashi Murakami: Lineage of Eccentrics, (un)expected families and Seeking Stillness, explore the galleries and engage in art-making activities. Art in Bloom, The MFA celebrates the return of spring with Art in Bloom from Sat., April 28 to Mon. April 30. For more than 40 years, the festival has paired art from across the MFA’s collection with floral interpretations created by 50 New England-area garden clubs. Art in Bloom launches with an Evening Preview of freshly installed arrangements on Friday, April 27 from 5–10 pm.
