Local Students Receive Bachelor’s Degrees from UMass Amherst

Approximately 5,500 students received bachelor’s degrees in over 100 majors at the University of Massachusetts Amherst’s Undergraduate Commencement on May 10, 2019 at the McGuirk Alumni Stadium.

Plasek Graduates from University of Utah

 Joseph Plasek of Mission Hill graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Utah on May 2, 2019.

Plasek was among the 8,465 graduates who were honored during the university’s 150th general commencement ceremony. Students in the Class of 2019 ranged in age from 18 to 72 and earned 9,126 degrees.    

Graduates represented 50 U.S. states and 68 foreign countries.

The University of Utah, located in Salt Lake City in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, is the flagship institution of higher learning in Utah.  

Founded in 1850, it serves over 31,000 students from across the U.S. and the world. With over 72 major subjects at the undergraduate level and more than 90 major fields of study at the graduate level, including law and medicine, the university prepares students to live and compete in the global workplace.
