Legacy Lifecare, a not-for-profit organization providing management services to affiliated non-profits in the senior living and healthcare sectors throughout Massachusetts, is pleased to announce that Katherine (Kae) S. Santos has been appointed Vice President of Strategy and Operational Excellence. In this new role, Ms. Santos will oversee the organizational strategies for advancing clinical and operational excellence at Legacy Lifecare. Katherine will also serve as a member of the organization’s Executive Leadership Team.
Throughout her career, Ms. Santos has established herself as a leading expert in healthcare quality and performance improvement. Prior to Legacy Lifecare, she worked for seventeen years at Brigham Health, most recently as the Director of Service Excellence and Performance Improvement at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital. Ms. Santos teaches at Harvard Medical School as the Co-Director of the Safety, Quality, Informatics and Leadership Program, a year-long certificate program for international healthcare leaders seeking to build their knowledge of healthcare innovation and improvement. She is also on the leadership board of the Massachusetts Healthcare Lean Network, a grass roots organization with over 400 members and 100 healthcare organizations across Massachusetts and New England that promotes learning within the healthcare quality and process improvement.

Ms. Santos earned a Master of Business Administration from MIT Sloan School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Harvard University. She is a highly trained and experienced instructor of Lean, Kaizen, Work-Out, and Change Acceleration Process by GE Healthcare Performance Solutions. Katherine resides in Boston with her husband, Abraham, and their three sons, Benjamin, Matthew, and Jonathan in Mission Hill.
