Mission Hill Little League celebrates 60 years

The Mission Hill Little League is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

“It’s really impressive—60 years,” said George Brennan, who is one of the founders of the league.

He said that it was started in 1953 when the Mission Hill Main Club, a young men’s baseball team, decided to start a Little League. Brennan said it began with eight teams.

“I think it brought a lot of people together,” said Brennan.

He said he loved going Saturday mornings to pitch to the kids.

“If I had to do it all over again tomorrow, I would,” he said.

The Little League will kickoff the 2013 season with the opening day parade April 20. For more information, visit missionhill-littleleague.org or call 617-989-0703.
