Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis has indicated in a tweet that one Boston Marathon bombing suspect is dead and another is still at large.
“One suspect dead. One at large. Armed and dangerous. White hat suspect at large,” Davis tweeted at his Twitter account, @EdDavis3.
He offered no details and did not specify what suspects he was referring to. But one of the bombing suspects is known for notably wearing a white hat. The other wore a dark hat. His tweet came amid a police shootout and reported explosions in Watertown, an incident that is still unfolding, all of which followed the shooting death of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer late last night.
The Boston Police Department (BPD) tweeted a photo with the message “WANTED: Police searching for suspect.” That tweet also did not specify a suspect in what crime, but the man in the photo resembles the “Suspect 2” FBI is seeking in the marathon bombing case.
The Boston Police Department is tweeting that a press conference will be held sometime today in Watertown.
