Sex attack suspect banned from Mission Hill pending trial

The Northeastern University student charged with two June 15 attempted sexual assaults has been banned from Mission Hill and the university by a court pending trial, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Patrick Barry, 21, is now described by the DA’s Office as a Medford resident, though he was living at 878 Huntington Ave. while attending NU. He he facing various serious charges, including assault with intent to rape, in the two street attacks that left two women cut with a knife.

He is being held on a total of $50,000 bail following his arraignment today in Jamaica Plain’s West Roxbury District Court in one of the attacks. The judge also ordered Barry to stay away from Mission Hill, NU, his Huntington Avenue apartment and any witnesses or victims in the case, as well as to abide by a 9 p.m. curfew. The judge also ordered that the identities of the victims be kept secret at this point. Barry previously was arraigned in the other attack case.
