Besides reporting recent developments, the Gazette this month also takes it annual look back at “Hill History.” It is interesting how closely the past and present intertwine.
Mission Church, the Parker Hill Branch Library and various historic parks are among the landmarks that have shaped and benefited today’s neighborhood. All of them came about from the efforts of residents and officials. We are lucky to have Friends of Historic Mission Hill reminding us of this valuable legacy.
At the same time, we have residents and officials working today on new projects to shape and benefit the neighborhood. Some of those projects will last for generations and hopefully earn the gratitude of posterity. Thanks to all the local innovators and activists, officials and residents, who are quite literally making history.
